The Blame Game

Posting for Sunday, December 2nd, 2012

It really is funny how when you sit and think about it how you, not just YOU in particular, but all of us tend to blame people, when we may be the root of the issue. You might blame someone for a breakup, you might blame someone for revealing a secret, you might blame someone for sabatoging you or something you are working on, you may blame someone that something should have been done and wasn't done and are you going to take the blame or blame it on someone else? Sadly, more often than not, it is the latter.

Why do we not want to OWN up for our actions, whether right or wrong? Why do we immediately want to point the finger at someone else? Is it really just human nature to do that, or are we trying to cover our rears so to speak?

We all have heard the saying "we learn from our mistakes." But do we? I have made a few, but when I ponder them, some of them, have I really learned anything from them? I would like to say, yes, of course, I have.

In a lot of ways I have learned from them, one thing comes to mind in particular, there were much easier ways of ridding the trash from my life, but I fell into something with someone that now looking back, I knew better. Someone came up with a brilliant scheme, I went with the "theme" if you will and now the trash is gone, but I could have handled it so much differently. Would I, if given the chance? Probably. But what's done is done, and life moves on and so must I.

It is ironic looking back, and when someone's name comes up in conversation from time to time, how nobody liked this person and yet they "endured" her for my sake. When I thought I was the one "enduring" but oh well, it doesn't matter anymore. Just something to think about from time to time when one needs a hearty laugh.

Don't fall in the blame game trap, it's so not worth it, in any aspect of your life. Just hold your head up high, be the best person you can possibly be, and surround yourself with the ones you have no trouble "enduring" and maybe just maybe they will like to be around you too and "endure" you and your quirkiness too.

One thing you can blame it on is the alcohol.....thanks Jamie Foxx!!
