Posting for Saturday, October 20th, 2012
We checked the weather before heading to Bloomington to eat at Scotty's Brewhouse, shop for IU gear, and of course, attend Hoosier Hysteria at Assembly Hall at the beautiful IU campus. Of course, we get there and it is raining and cold....brrrr! Thankfully it didn't rain all day and not hard rain because guess who decided not to take an umbrella.
First we went to TIS bookstore and got us a shirt to wear to the Hoosier Hysteria. Man did Bloomington make the money this weekend!! A lot of people were wearing my striped pants, love them! After that we headed to have lunch at Scotty's Brewhouse, which was good. Then we walked to a bakery that Brittanee always wanted to go to, we walked in and walked right back out. Not impressed. We then walked to a few stores along the way, went to the Indiana store where we usually get most of our IU tshirts. The line to buy anything wrapped around the store, it was NUTS! Thank God we didn't buy anything there!
We walked to the IU campus. Took some beautiful pix around campus where mums were planted around every turn and the beautiful trees with the leaves changing. It was breathtaking! We went to the Memorial Union to look around and a few bookstores to see what they were selling there. Then we had to have a drink, Starbucks was that choice. Finally it was time to head to Assembly Hall.
The doors opened at 4pm and the line was wrapped around the building on every side. We got in within 20 minutes. I am and have always been an IU fan and this was a great time for me. I am afraid of heights yet I had to sit way up high. It was great!! They had a slam dunk contest, a three point contest, a scrimmage game. My Hoosiers are going to be great this year, a team to be reckoned with for sure!
That lasted 3 hours then we went to pick up pizza from Pizza Xpress. We drove back to Brownsburg and crashed. I fell asleep with a smile on my face from the Hoosier Hysteria! :)
