Bucket List for 2013 January-March...Kazi Style

Posting for Tuesday, January 1st, 2013

Hello & Happy New Year!!

I never had much use for the term New Year's Resolutions and yes, I fell prey to make several, with hardly ever making any of them stick. Of course, I have the same one that almost everyone out there in America have, to lose weight. I have tried this bucket list thing for the past several years in place of "resolutions" if you will, and I seem to have a better success rate for whatever reason.

So, since we are starting a "new" year with "new" hopes, "new" dreams, "new" inspirations, I am going to try something "new" myself. Instead of making a Bucket List for the whole year and know that most of my things on my list wont ever be achieved or experienced, I am going to set goals, if you will, 3 months at a time. We will see how this plays out my friends. You should know by now, I always do things with a little Kazi twist, why should 2013 be any different?

First, I must update from my last bucket list and I was surprised on how well I did on this one. I dont remember the date I created the last one, but I gave myself a deadline of December 15th. My old bucket list was as follows:

Watch 20 movies I have never seen before-I came close but didn't finish this project

Watch 10 TV shows I have never watched-didn't even come close on this one, but I did watch the Big Bang Theory for the first time ever recently, doesn't that count for something?

Eat at 5 restaurants I have never been to-it's hard to accomplish this with my work schedule because working 10-7 I am not feeling like trying much of anything new and my weekends go by wayyy too fast but hoping to incorporate trying many new things in 2013

Read 8 books 4 from authors that I love and 4 from authors I have never read before--had the 4 I have never read before covered Sylvia Day, E L James, Sarah Fawkes, Luis Carlos Montalvan, & Dave Pelzer. I have also read authors that I love--Danielle Steele, Maeve Binchy, Nicholas Sparks, and patiently waiting for the arrival of Jackie Collins new book debuting Feb 5th, 2013. (drool cup needed)

I have written several short stories and in 2013 am delving into writing a book for real, so many ideas swimming around in this brain o mine, so watch for so much more than a blog coming to an internet space near you :)

Ok, so I failed this one BIG TIME, achieving my goal weight by December 15, 2012. Not the end of the world. I have ordered some dvds to try to help me get back to where I was 6 months ago. I would be happy with that. I don't have to be a supermodel, never aspired to be a size 4 but would really like to get this (gulp) 25 lbs off I have gained.

Make 5 new friends-cha ching I exceeded this expectation and I couldnt be more thrilled about this!!

Keep up with my blog for 365 days, still going strong since July 21st, 2012. (Kathy's Birthday) It has been a challenge at times but something that has kept me focused and disciplined as a writer wanna be....

And I did manage to save at least $200, so all in all I think I did pretty well, just as in life, had some disappointments, but by no means am I giving up or giving in, just forging ahead with my head held high and determined to be stronger in many ways thru 2013.

So without further adieu, I am going to keep this first 3 months Bucket List simple and maybe just maybe I can report back and say check, check, check to all of my first quarter endeavors....here goes!

*First and foremost on my list, let's be realtistic and say I would like to lose 10 lbs by March 15th, 2013. I am hoping for more, but no more added unnecessary pressure on myself, if I lose more I will be ecstatic.

*I want to throw a bunch of stuff away, my new theory is going to be if I don't look at something or haven't in the last 2 months I am either donating it to the Goodwill, selling it on Ebay, or pitching it. We joke about being a hoarder, I am not THAT bad, but my pack rat ways have to stop here. I will actually take videos and document before and after shots. This is my goal by the 31st of March. (Need a little extra time for this one) Tracy, this is where you come in, I need to know how to sell things on Ebay. :)

*Continue to be able to save some money here and there

*Make some much needed home improvements

*Read 10 books between now and March 31st

*Watch 25 movies that I have never before seen by March 31st (candy ratings will be given again)

*Start working on my book

I think that should be enough to keep me plenty busy for the first 3 months of the New Year. I won't be journalling my progress along the way, but I will update my progress at the end of February. I encourage each of you to make your own bucket list, and share your results, if you would like and are comfortable in doing so. Here is wishing each and everyone near and far in my life that mean so much to me an incredibly Happy New Year! May 2013 bring many surprises to each of us.....like my prince that is still lost and wont ask for directions and surprisingly doesnt own a GPS! Oh well, many blessings to you and yours this "New" Year!!
